"The photographer who proved horses could fly"

Eadweard Muybridge, the inspiration behind Piercy Conner's 'etched' concrete facade for the 2012 Olympic Athletes Village is the subject of a major retrospective at Tate Britain this autumn. The running man pattern on Piercy Conner's facade was developed by 're-animating' Muybridge's photographs before capturing the individual frames to form an intricate pattern. This pattern is reproduced as fine grooves in the concrete cladding panels.
